Re: Hull K R : Sun Mar 20, 2016 9:19 pm
Evalds was rusty but it's clear GOB has to be first choice full back going forward. The switch in the second half gave us back that threat we have seen so far this season. Tim has said he doesn't see Evalds as a full back but more a centre so we shall see where his career goes I guess.I thought a lot out there today were poor. KR at times were easily winning the ruck and why we were giving so many penalties away. Bad day at the office or the wrong mentality of thinking would be an easy day?
Lee had a so so game. In defence he put some big tackles in but he was to blame for a couple of there tries. He did though, when he moved in to the halves in the second half offer us more than GOB had in the first and was surprised they took him off when they did as we were very much on the front foot at the 65th minure mark.
Although he took his try well I just don't get Johnson. He is a quick and strong lad but that skip and jump as he reaches the defender loses him all momentum. In defence he cost us some yards and drop outs today. That said, if we only actually used him and Carney as wingers they can be, we would score so much more down the sides. I lost count of the times KR created 3 on 2's out wide against us but we simply don't do that when we have the option as both Sa'u and Griffin do not put that extra pass in. If I was the winger outside them two I would be cheesed off at the lack of service. Against Wigan in pre season I though it showed when JJ played centre to Carney and we opened them up so many times down that side but have not gone back to that again.
G. Griffin and Kopchazk were good today but the rest of the pack just weren't up to scratch.
2 big games coming up this weekend and if we are to make a push to be in the right places come the end of the season we need to be much better than that today
