Think everyone knew about Eden going back East anyway, can only think that with Shannon this due to the concussion injury and a real shame for him as when he was fit & healthy he was some player. As for Smith the pretty obvious reason is that he was garbage and one of the most disappointing hyped up players I've ever seen pull on a red shirt.
Frees up some salary cap, oh if only we had a big name full back waiting for a work visa it would make more sense
Yeah i'm happy with this as i see Fages a much better player then Smith! Smith though on this day is class but he's just not settled in. Mcpherson also makes sense as he's been limited to few appearances in the time he's been here. I wonder who's going to be responsible for goal kicking duties?

Does Evalds kick at all? other than that Lee would be the obvious choice, the recruitment of a top class kicker for next season would appear to be a huge priority. Oh no wait Marc Sneyd is coming home
Hope Smith doesn't go on loan to a team who potentially are going to be scrapping with us in our current position, I would have thought if he has been freed and is on the open market Bradford would have been the obvious choice.
Thats the danger with Smith i think we all know he can produce the goods and put him a lesser side like bradford(not offence) he'll probably run the game. On Evalds i have no idea maybe Locke can kick when he arrives but how long that will be i have no idea.
I said when you signed him that he was great at Wakefield because he was happy and settled there which meant he played his best Rugby in years. Early career at Paramatta he was happy and played great Cronulla - not happy - poor form Wigan - not happy - poor form Wakefield - V Happy - Great form Salford - not happy - poor form

Although Smith didn't set the world on fire at Salford, I also think he was made a scapegoat when the team has been under performing in general. You could realistically say Chase has been garbage all year too. With a few exceptions. They both fall into the same pigeon hole. I think maybe Smith wears his heart on his sleeve and when he's down it really shows. You don't become a bad player over half a season, and he's certainly not a bad player. Wakey have done good business over this. Taking the dosh when it was needed and taking him back for the rest of the season, where I hope he kicks-on and keeps them above Bradford. (But not us )
I'm suprised that we've loaned Smith back to another team that's struggling at the wrong end of the table. I hope this move doesn't come back to bite us on the booty.
