Salford fans launch fundraiser : Thu Mar 31, 2016 12:02 pm
For those of you who aren't aware a group of fans decided to set-up a fundraiser to purchase flowers for the players wives/partners and a gift for the children involved in the Huddersfield incident as a way of apologising for the behaviour of a very small minority.
https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/sal ... ?utm_id=89 The initial target was £200 which was exceeded instantly and the sum currently stands at £690 after plenty of generous donations. Any surplus money left over is intended to be donated to a charity (or charities) of the players choice. Depending what the total finishes on it could be quite a sizeable sum going to charity. It would be great to turn such a negative for the club and the sport into a positive one. Naturally some will agree and some wont, but already positive articles have appeared online via The Sun and Love Rugby League which can only be a good for the club, the sport and reputation of Salford fans in general. http://www.loverugbyleague.com/news_214 ... brawl.html http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... brawl.html |
