same as happens when any player retires, you replace him, what a stupid question!

i agree in the sense that you are an up and coming team, rebuilding so to speak, as we did, but we did that years ago with patience, hard work, and very good coaches,since then we have been consistent play off makers,getting to 2 elimination semi finals, won a league title, appeared in 2 cup finals, 4 semi finals.
no disrespect but i don't see the parallels with you, you have basically bought big name players and tried to create an insant winning team, that rarely happens in sport, who knows you might be successful in the near future and i hope you are.

but the difference between the 2 clubs couldn't be more different really, and yes you beat us at ours, you often do, you do seem to be a bit of a bogey side for us, although we have only lost once at the AJbell and that was by a single point.

but saying you should expect to beat us is a bit arrogant IMO.

I actually do see parallels between Hudds and salford, in that we once did what salford are doing, buying once great players past their best and injury plagued in the hope we could buy quick success, schofield, goulding, vievers (although I don't want to do him a disservice as he alwAys gave his all for us) Bentley etc.
It didn't work for us either. We learnt from that.

Id say hudd are ahead of us. No doubt about it! Were like the new kids on the block. Huddersfield are an established top5 side for me

that was when we first got promoted into super league though, we thought by signing these experienced players it would pay off for us, sadly it went the other way.
salford on the other hand are an established super league club trying to buy success but failing.

it's a shame he didn't think to do that straight away, the fruits of that academy system could be coming through by now rather than relying on journeymen

He promised when he first took over that the academy would have an overhaul. Like most things done right it takes time to put the right systems in place- and longer to see the benefits-the problem with marwan is he's already made promises he can't/hasn't been able to keep- so there's less inclination to listen....

They need to get scouts out watching the local kids. A mate of mine has a son of secondary school age who plays for an amateur tean in Salford. He says he has never seen any scouts from Salford turn up however he has been approached on three separate occasions by Wigan scouts and has signed with them. The talent is there, they just need to go and look for it.
