Im not so sure but its clearly not gripping the attention of locals, they may be a few thousand that buy tickets but given the catchment area it really is minimal.
Which is a fair argument, but is enough done to make the locals aware of the event? A lot of people plan events weeks in advance, not just 3 days before when they lazily take a few players pics on the St James' pitch and say job done on the marketing.

Im sure I saw months ago they were planning on giving out free tickets in schools, but cant see that happened. Giving kids free tickets and getting them to pester their parents to go is one of the oldest marketing tricks going but even that seems beyond SL.
