I think this is more about releasing cap space, as the season is yet to start, any payments made to him wont count on the cap.

Interviews with Price in the local paper seem to suggest we will start the year with the squad we have, but may look to strengthen through the year. My guess is they are looking for a second row partner for Currie.

Ben Barba is also available and hankering for a SL gig

I know, but Junior Sau will miss most of the season now after getting injured in a friendly. Need an experienced centre to partner Thornley, rather than teenager Keenan Brand.
Surely Leigh wouldn't have signed him if he might get 'sent down' next month ? Who knows, not me.

I think you do know, if Gelling has a contract to play pro-sport under the supervision of the directors and staff of a professional sports club then that's a far better way of sorting him out than sticking him in a cell at taxpayers expense. The opposition fans will give him plenty of "punishment" that's for sure.
