Million Pound Game : Wed Sep 30, 2015 8:36 am
We've debated the effectiveness of the new structure, but the MPG on Saturday is what sport is all about, isn't it? There's so much at stake for both clubs.Bradford won't have a better chance to get back up there for years - they managed to hold onto most of their SL players from their relegation season including Gaskell, who will all be looking elsewhere if they fail to go up.
Wakefield have had a tragic season, but who'd bet against Brian Smith in such an important game?
The game's nearly sold out after only two days of sales. It's probably the biggest game for both sides since 2006 - Wakey's relegation showdown with Cas, and Bradford's World Club Challenge!
Say all you want about the concept but the Million Pound Game is definitely a positive in my book. It's a shame that it's only at an 8k ground, as I reckon with some better marketing and a neutral venue, it could pull so much more.
