When Melbourne broke the cap rules in Oz (paying lots of money, for players they COULD afford and NOT leaving local businesses in the mire, by not paying their bills), the punishment from the NRL was swift and harsh - stripped of titles and unable to earn competition points.
When Bradford pay lots of money on players they can't afford, go into administration, leaving many companies (and their employees), in considerable difficulties, what do we do?
The RFL pay for them to keep the squad of players they can't afford and we rejoice in the miracle that they might make the 8, in the face of all that adversity (that's the adversity they have created themselves).
It's perverse!
