I'd agree on recent seasons but this season I don't think they are doing too bad. Not much controversy, no apparent early season clampdown on certain technical issues which end up forgot about after a few weeks and no massive new rule changes for us all to argue about. Maybe it's just me but I honestly barely noticed the whistle blowers this year. Long may it continue.

The play the balls seem alot slower this year, less penalties for lying on etc.

Agree with that.

We seem to be moving (slightly) away from the "touch and play the ball" spectacle Super League has become recently, which means the refs don't seem to be blowing their whistles every two seconds.

3 out of 4 officlas in the world cup final were British trained and yet you see no improvement. Australia have had to introduce a 2 official system on the field to police the ruck, speed up the play the ball and acheive what we have had for a number of years now and still you think we are no better. The number of officials in this countr has trebled since 2002 and yet you notice no difference. Speaks volumes for me. Maybe as such an expert on refereeing standards you are a grade 1 yourself?? Maybe NOT!!!

Change the record you're getting boring and obviously have some kind of persoanl problem with Mr Cummings.

The thing that worries me about this years edicts from Cummings and co is the speed at the play the ball, less pens but a lot slower, wheras in the NRL they have gone the other way faster PTB. We have once again fallen into the trap of copying the Aussies and allowing slowing down the PTB when they have gone the other way, depending on the refs in the internationals at the end of the season we will be penalised out of it.
