why does it have to be a high profile replacement? why a junior reporter. the game is littered with youngish former superleauge and div 1 players who no longer play through injury.

why not give of them the spot.

It was diabolical. I had to mute the sound and just watch the VT as Offiah's painful inability to manage a single coherent sentence was just too distracting.

I don’t watch the show very often, but Offiah was extremely poor last night. I wouldn’t deny his knowledge of the game, after all, he was a proven try scorer. But some of his comments were ill informed and amateurish.

He struggled to remember who Bradford had played the week before.

He accused Hull of Grinding out wins  .

He called Tavita Leo-Latu, Leo Lotu

He said Catalans finished bottom of SL the year before last.

Then really struggled to remember who Warrington played the week before, then accused the club of having a drinking culture  . I.M.O that comment was out of order.

The sport gets little coverage on national TV, but when it does, people are treated to this.

This is, of course, assuming they want to keep the 'guest in the studio' format.

Having someone in the studio is definitely much better. A couple of times last year when Rea was unavailable they had Clarke on a video link but it seemed very clunky. Still I would rather have that than what we have now.

I only suggested a reporter as they would be able to cope with speaking live on TV. Although then again, Ben Proe still struggles in his interviews. But yes, if there are any former players in or near Middlesex and can do the job then fine.

What we are getting is such an embarrassment to the game that the RFL really should be getting involved and suggesting alternatives.

An unorthodox choice on a boat, and so that must surely be the winner.

There is nothing like a good game of The A-Team Trapped at Sea.

Here's one who could probably do a good job: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 39,00.html

I'm sure there are others though.

Maybe so, but the Warrington clubs ‘dirty washing’ shouldn’t be hung out for all to see on National T.V - Christ, I sound like a Jeremy Kyle ‘contestant’.

As an ex-player he should know better, the game gets enough bad press as it is. Give Clarkey a pay rise and get him to do it. He is by far the most knowledgeable pundit on Sky’s books, not a great accolade I know, bearing in mind the competition  .

Agree totally. The "word on the street" is hardly evidence with which to start bandying allegations about on national tv with.
