Anyone else noticed how low the scores have been?

Round 1 this year compared with Round 1 + Leeds v KR last year.

This Year:

Cas 8-12 Quins
Hull 18-10 Wigan
Leeds 18-4 Wakefield
Bradford 13-13 Hull KR
Catalans 8-30 Huddersfield
St Helens 26-14 Warrington
Salford 28-16 Celtic

Average Points Scored: 31

Leeds 20-12 Hull KR
Huddersfield 10-30 Leeds
Warrington 32-20 Hull FC
Wakefield 26-24 Bradford
Hull KR 24-22 St Helens
Castleford 14-21 Catalans
Harlequins 28-47 Wigan

Average Points Scored: 47

What do you all think this is due to?
Possibly the slowing down at the ruck.

Perhaps, but the pitches have been muddy, wet and slow too.

Although I was in Australia this time last year wasnt the weather a tad better? Thats what I would put it down to. Plus if you used Leeds - Hull KR from last year shouldnt you use the 2 games that were early this year? I know it wouldnt make much difference but still.
