its not as if Hull FC have signed a poor tenancy deal whereby the stadium gets loads of extra revenues once Hulls crowds grow above a certain figure

Correct. That deal was renegotiated a while ago.

Hull FC make enough money from the playing at the KC to turn a modest profit for the last three years. How many clubs who own their own stadia are doing the same?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Complete and utter rubbish.

Hull FC make far more money at the KC than they did at the Boulevard and they don't own the KC.
Ticket sale increases, corporate increase, bigger profile, more merchandise sales as a result, etc. You may say "you have to pay rent", but this covers maintenance, which you would have to pay if you owned your own ground anyway.

Big club in a big city , quite pssibly

Medium or smallish town a different scenario

Put that club outside SL and it is a loss maker

You really think that will be enough for us to show a 50% increase on attendances?

I think it will boost attendances but I think expecting 15k attendances is asking a lot - but I hope I am wrong!

We at Hull increased our attendances by more than 50%. In fact it might be closer to a 100% increase, and in our first season at the KC we finished 2 places below the position we finished in during our last season at the Boulevard iirc

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know
