Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Why lie? Everyone can see you did. You either tried to load the dice in your favour and hoped no-one noticed or you were too stupid to realise you had done so. Whatever the reason for it. It happened
Unlike you, I loaded no dice... nor... unlike you... did I request a safety blanket.
JB Down Under offered me 2 bets HERE. I declined one bet and accepted the other bet, though it does appear that JB Down Under has now chickened out.
1) The Total Attendance Bet - which was declined by me for obvious reasons. The 2013 World Cup consists of 28 fixtures where the attendances will be based primarily on discounted half price ticket entry. This is in stark contrast to 1995 which consisted of 15 fixtures where attendances were based primarily upon full price ticket entry.
2) The Average Attendance Bet - which was accepted by me, where the 2013 World Cup average is competing against the 1995 World Cup average of 17,707 per fixture. A very reasonable bet considering that 2013 attendances are being boosted by the heavily discounted half price ticket community of fans who wouldn't turn up otherwise.
*********************** Oh, and just for those who are unaware of SmokeyTA's betting cowardice...
SmokeyTA made an assertion that SL attendances in 2013 were on course to becoming the 2nd best in the history of the game (2012 being the highest).
He was offered a bet by RLBandit who disagreed with that assertion. The bet offered by RLBandit was that 2013 SL attendances would be lower than 2011 SL attendances.
SmokeyTA and his assertion lost their bottle and would only accept the bet provided he was allowed a 5% dispensation on the bet. In other words, so long as the 2013 attendances were no more than 5% lower than 2011 SL attendances, then he won the bet. RLBandit generously allowed the 5% dispensation.
SmokeyTA won the bet because the 2013 SL attendances were only 4.16% down on the 2011 SL attendances.
In other words, his safety blanket dispensation of 5% saved his @rse!
Shame the same cannot be said for SmokeyTA's credibility however.

Are both those games covered by the purchase of just one ticket or the purchase of two tickets?
So if we gave everyone 2 tickets for the double header instead of 1 then you'd be happy for the attendance to be given for both games? Since everyone else seems to be doing this then why don't we?

Yes, that's the one where you have tried sneak in a 20% safety blanket, the one where you pretend not to notice the massive significance of an increase in group games compared to a statistical outlier like the final. The one where to keep the same average throughout the tournament the group games would need to average over 20% more than they did in 1995.
Another example to highlight. 10k watch each of 12 group games, 20k watch semi finals, 60k watch final, average 14666
11k watch each of the 25 group and qf games, 21k watch both semi's and 61k watch final, average 13500.
Every match in the 2013 could have a higher attendance than its equivalent 1995 game, yet because of the structure of the tournament and difference amount of games played 2013 would get a lower average. It is an in built safety blanket for you. Betting cowardice indeed!

What was the attendance at the Magic Weekend in Manchester this season?
Was it...
Day 1 attendance = 30,793 x 4 games = 123,172 Day 2 attendance = 31,249 x 3 games = 93,747 Total = 216,949
OR
30,793 + 31,249 = 62,042
you have pretty clearly expressed it. 216949 attended 7 games. 62042 attended the 2 days. 30793 attended game 1. 30793 attended game 2, 30793 attended game 3, 30793 attended game 4. 30793 attended day one. It's fairly simple and is the principle you used to calculate your own seasonal SL averages you silly banana!
Maybe you should check your spreadsheets for further confirmation of your erroneous standpoint?

I've emailed the rugby league ticket site tonight asking if any cheaper tickets will be getting released for sale for the opener as only £60+ tickets (in the main) seem to be available and I got an ultra quick reply. The guy who responded was in the process of opening up more areas of the ground online which should be live tonight.
Great to hear and fantastic to get such a quick response.
William, why in your posts do you make it like all the tickets were sold for fiver at 59% discount. There not.
The promo code didnt come in until about June/July. So All the tickets sold before then won't have been sold at half price.
Second point, the tickets aren't been offered at half price, you only get discount when you enter a promo code. Now that promo code is only been used IF YOU KNOW ABOUT IT. There is a complete difference between that and offering tickets for half price.
If I didn't participate on this forum, I wouldn't know about the code.
The tournament will be well attended, higher ever attendances, make a healthy profit but you'd still find something that the tournament could improve on then gleefully wrote how poor the tournament is.
