Got to feel a bit for Saints. Still topped the table after such an up & down season, yet getting little credit. LLS means so little now that their achievement will go unnoticed.
I'd like to see topping the table restored as the main prize, with the GF being a nice add on.

Every team has had an up and down season to be fair.
Despite their critics Saints have topped the table and no matter what anyone says topping the league is still very difficult to do, and if teams like Wigan, Cas etc are better then why the hell aren't they top after 27 games?
Missing Walsh will probably prevent them winning the big prize but they've still had a very good season overall.

That wouldn't happen. You have to get rid of the grand final for topping the league to mean more. |

Personally preferred the top 6 format that contained elimination for 3-6 every week and allowing 1&2 two chances to make the GF with the highest seeds having the home ties

I saw a league table of the top 8 of results between the 8 and Saints were still top so they obviously deserve it.
Will they win the grand final? of course not, they will bottle it.
