Considering its an "A Grade" stadium, Headingley's away end needs improving.

It does indeed but I'm sure I read somewhere it's not viable with the houses pretty much straight behind it

Not a builder or structural engineer but surely a roof could be erected on the away stand at Headingley? I think the reason a new stand at Leeds is not possible is due to the new rules and regs over how big the steps have to be and would reduce capacity something Leeds are not going to be in favour of. This is why a roof would be a cheaper and surely a more practical option?

If Leeds are eventually going to redo the North and South Stands would it not make sense to install a roof similar the smaller stand in the Aviva Stadium over the terrace? That way it covers the stands, doesn't mean they have to build on their neighbours' land, doesn't impinge too much on their capacity and means that the newly installed big screen doesn't need to be moved. It would also be more beneficial for their neighbours because a structure like that retain a lot of the crowd and PA noise.

The Western Terrace is destined to always be open - there's little benefit to Leeds for spending money to cover it even if it could be achieved. Quite a few people like being out in the open anyway
