Putting the sport down is *completely* different to putting down the *running* of the sport. They are absolutely unrelated. You might love the sport and think that its a good thing to go on about how well it's run. You might also love the sport and think that its run by idiots and that attendances are a big concern and that people aren't taking it seriously. In either case people might think you're wrong, a hopeless optimist/pessimist, whatever, but it has *absolutely no bearing* on whether or not you love the sport and care about its best interests.

Spot on....but some think its simpler to just brand me a troll.

Have the RFL released any more official statements on RLWC Ticket sales since the 40% of 500k in July? We've had "leaks" saying 280k and 50k at Wembley, but nothing concrete as such. Surely if they have passed the 293,000 number from 2008 they would have announced it........I mean they announced that the final would be bigger than the one in 2000.

It appears all the half price ticket sale offers where adult tickets are priced as low as £5 and £7.50 have not yet produced that magical total of ticket sales in excess of the 2008 World Cup which consisted of 10 less fixtures.

Hopefully, modern day SL fans (who are allegedly famous for their last minute arrival in terms of commitment to attending international RL fixtures) can manage to peel themselves away from their iPads, mobile phones, laptops, games consoles and Sky HD/3D Home Cinema systems and get off their @rses! That's assuming £5 and £7.50 tickets for adults are not deemed to be unrealistically overpriced of course.

How do you get these cheap tickets?

THe RFL shoots itself in the foot with these cheap tickets. I used to always get the most expensive / second most expensive tickets for internationals but after a previous WC Final at Old Trafford I've stopped. I paid £50 a ticket and had just about the worst seats in the house. Then on the day they let people in for a tenner and they sat in better seats than me. Since then I've never taken things on trust I always want to know exactly where my seat is or else just buy cheaper seats so I won't be disappointed.

Had a similar experience at Wembley this year for the CC final, got more expensive seats only to find that we were at the back of the bottom tier, with the 2nd tier overhanging, and behind a TV gantry...how they were deemed higher price I don't know. Still at least it obscured some of the view of Hull's awful performance! :)

lets see what effect Tuesday's Football advert has, its a must win game for England, so you'd expect a large audience to see it.

It's good theres going to be an advert, but what effect do you honestly think it will have?

Just one attendance of 50k or above in the upcoming world cup and it will be the first time since 1960 that there has been 3 crowds of over 50k in a british RL season.

Should 2 crowds of over 50k be recorded then it will be the first time since 1953 that this had happened in a British RL season.

Now where's that spreadsheet.....

Wembley and the Final will crack 50k.....Cardiff will probably too. Good that all 3 of these games will be on the BBC and will show the game in a good light, but I find it worrying that the remaining 23 games will struggle to get 200k between them

OK, let's take Tonga vs. Italy for example. Bar local marketing, how would anyone expect that to have a massive crowd?

I'd suggest his use of the word "offer" suggests otherwise.

From Premier Sports website FAQ:
For monthly subscribers subscription is for a minimum of 2 months, with cancellation to be given by phone 30 days from next billing date. For annual subscribers please note the minimum term is for 12 months and the subscription is automatically renewed unless cancellation by phone is received 30 days before the date of renewal"

So that's £19.98 in subscription fees for 28 RLWC games all "live".

Just over 71p per live game then.

It remains to be seen whether such a price is considered unrealistic to the modern day Giants fan who has become so accustomed to his discounted SL product over the years.

thanks for the info, its all i wanted.

no need for the other drivel. For what its worth paid £199 for my giants season ticket the season just gone... also went to every game home and away (london, catalans too) including cup games the season just gone so dont go questioning my loyalty to rugby league.
