Tell me William would you prefer full stadiums and cheap tickets or expensive tickets and empty stands?

Reality is international RL does not have a high profile or big following. The game is what it is, I applaud the RFL for being pro active in filling stadiums rather than un realistic pricing that we see fans cherry picking which games they would/could afford to go to and having empty stands on TV.

I think we need to remember that most of the games are in the heartland. So most people are going to be going to more than one game. When you have a family, it starts getting expensive!

Also very few of the tickets are going for £5. It's only if you know the code. Only way you know the code if your on a forum.

also the cheapest tickets are in the worst seats, and many will naturally chose the better seats for a better view. For example i've chosen mid-price tickets down the sides for the games i'm attending, and not the cheap ones on the ends, on the bottom row, or up in the gods.

Having concerns and criticisms about the standard of the game and/or how it is run is also completely different to the way 'William' carries on, that'll be why he gets the response he does.

I'm in favour of giving tickets away for free nearer the time in order to avoid the potential embarrassment of rows upon rows of empty seats.

Agreed, international RL had a much healthier following and a larger media profile prior to the Super League era. Tickets didn't always have to be sold at half price or given away for free in order to encourage fans to attend internationals back in the day.

It does appear that adult tickets for the RLWC priced at a mere £15 and £10 have still proven to be an unrealistic pricing regime as far as the modern day Super League era fan is concerned. As I predicted 8 months ago, the RFL have ended up having to apply a multitude of half price offer codes in order to encourage the modern day fan to purchase tickets for the RLWC. The ticket prices are now down to £5 and £7.50 for adults, yet less than a fortnight away from the start of the tournament, these cheap tickets haven't come remotely close to selling out. The RFL may well be left with no other option but to give lots of tickets away for free.
