Depends on what you mean by average really.The Magic Weekend is pretty much bang on average for a round. But our attendances in rounds can vary quite a lot, round 1 in 2013 for example was 73k, round 4 53k and in 2011, week 18 was 48k, week 19 72k. A lot of our attendances are either ‘good’ or ‘bad’ rather than the average as you would expect. (which makes sense when you think about it, if Leeds, St’s, hull, Wigan are all playing away, and London, Salford, Widnes all at home, there is going to be a huge difference in attendances compared to those fixtures being reversed)
Im not saying that the Magic Weekend is a particularly well attended set of fixtures, as I say it is pretty much bang on the average. It is just certain to not be one of our ‘bad’ weeks which we do have a fair few times throughout the season and it will have a positive effect on our total.
