If Leeds can carry on that defense they showed against us they wil be fine and the rabble such as Wakefield or London will go down
London were good, played with commitment and worked hard on percentages. The word "rabble" is far too arrogant we were beaten by the better team as quite a few top teams have found out.
I disagree. Whilst we had the now discarded 3 x 8 system, there was much more interest in who would end up in the "relegation" league and then who would play in and win the MPG. This season, even though there are now around 8 sides that could take the wooden spoon, just about every side in SL could also make the play offs. Also, with the relegation issue being settled before the play offs begin, focus will definitely turn to the "road to Old Trafford".
What has really made things interesting is the challenge posed by London. Many assumed that they were certainties for a swift return to The Championship and they have massively proved everyone wrong. This, coupled with the early dominance of Saints and Wire, has compressed the rest of the league and I still feel that only one of those sides will make the final and that the other will miss out. With the spectre of relegation still looming, there is plenty of rugby to be played and it looks as though we will be going to the last couple of weeks of the regular season before we know who will fall through the trap door. For me, I still think that Hull FC or Catalan will make the final and they will play either Wire or Saints.
Haven't got a clue who will finish in 5th spot, it really could be any one of the other 8 sides, even London.
I do hope that The RFL have a contingency plan for Catalan making the final and that they learned some lessons from the Challenge Cup last season. McNamara has proved to be a shrewd coach at Catalan and they might just shake things up.
Yes what is good is that a lot of teams can make the 5 but what is all the talk about - who will go down, thats my point.
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
10 Games to go and it's all still to play for at both ends of the Table: This weekend coming, The Hull Derby, where form is often thrown out the window and HKR really need it, whilst FC will want to cement 3rd spot Wakefield host Huddersfield.....with the loser facing being dragged into the Relegation battle Wire host the Saints in the game of the round. Victory for the visitors cements the hub cap.......and could this be a dress rehearsal for the GF? Wigan v Salford is looking like a battle for 4th or 5th, with both sides finding a bit of form recently Castleford v London. If asked in April, I'd have had this as a bolted on home win, but Castleford seem to have hit an average period, whilst London are punching well above......London win this and dare you say it that they might be safe? Leeds host Catalans in what could be described as a "cripple fight"......Catalans seem to be in freefall and this could be the game that sees Leeds pick up another valuable 2 points.....
I'll say it again. It's been a long time since we've had this much to play for at this stage of the season....the only negative was the low crowds, but surely having meaningful games will bring the fans back!!!

So HKR have dragged themselves off the canvas to get off the bottom of the table, Wigan have reached 4th spot......Wakefield have ensure Huddersfield have a role to play in the relegation dogfight and Saints have show themselves to have a bit of steel, with a pretty impressive last 20 minutes. Sunday afternoon's results will be key to the relegation battle as well as the play-offs.....and I don't think 18 Points will be enough to assure survival.

If Catalans are as poor as recent weeks when they play tomorrow and Leeds still can’t beat them then think Leeds may well be toast. Pinning a lot of hopes on Lui to get the attack scoring points because that’s killing us right now, our defensive efforts in recent weeks have suggested we have a chance of staying up but it’s pointless if you can only scored around 10-12 points a game.

Catalans are like Hull, you never know what to expect. Makes it interesting if you don`t have to go through the wringer following either of them.

Relegation will be settled in the regular season though and ALL the talk will then, quite rightly, shift to the title race.
Every promotion and relegation system has it's flaws but bottom club going down, rather than some contrived or convoluted structure, has to be the best option (as long as it's not your club going down).

If you can't beat them at home on Sunday with the players they have unavailable then you really are in trouble.
