Not quite sure why people are getting their knickers in a twist over season tickets. The new system will be no different to now where you get a season ticket for the regular season and then must buy tickets for the playoffs.
In this case you'll get a season ticket for the regular season (presumably 23 rounds) and so 12 home games. Then for the split into 3 groups of 8 you'll have to pay for those games on top. Like the current playoffs.
As for the argument it makes the regular season meaningless, again no different to the current playoffs or the playoffs for promotion between the leagues. Points aren't carried over from the regular season into the playoffs currently.
Personally I'd rather we'd stuck with licensing (but done properly) for another 10+ years at least. And if we were going to bring back P&R I'd have just gone back to straight P&R. But the arguments about season tickets etc are just silly.
