How does this young lad meet the UKBA criteria for a visa when Championship clubs seem to fail when trying to sign players of this experience?
I raised that point a few pages back and none of the Wigan fans could offer an explanation. It's very strange. You see current NRL players turned down because they've not played enough games, yet this is a player who hasn't played any that I know of.
It will be interesting to hear why, potentially something to do with his age or nationality? I think he's from the Cook Islands.

If you have any evidence that Wigan are breaking the cap, speak to the RFL. If you don't, be quiet.

aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

We don't make the rules despite what you think Saddo..... Like other clubs, we just find ways to bend them...

I've not suggested they are breaking the rules. Where have I said that? By 'abuse' I mean are they benefiting in ways the new rules they suggested were not intended, not that they are breaking rules.
The bit you quoted above it about work permits and immigration. You need to read before you post.

and you need to get a life and stop worrying about Wigan and start worrying about Paul Wellens at full back next season.
Not being funny but this is coming from someone whos club has signed Brett Seymour, a guy who was sacked off from the Sharks from drunken antics and has been less than average at the Warriors making juist 22 appearances in 2 seasons, and again got into trouble over drunken antics.
Oh yea and has been playing along side him at the Vulcans this year. At least this guy is young and has potential to improve and become a decent player, whereas Seymour will always be a 2nd/3rd grade player. Add in Tony Martin and Martin Aspinwall, and I would be more concerned at your own strange signings. At least we are looking at signing young players with potential insted of proven journymen.
Martin aside all our signings have played lots of first team NRL games including this season, Aspinwall will add depth, Lynch is an excellent signings and Ellis will add cover in our halfs. You have signed a player that has never played a first team game, that along with Lauaki who was our worst player last year on a long term deal, seems like 2 strange signings. I'd still expect Wigan to finish in the top 2 next year and maybe win one of the two trophies, but I think they could go this without the signings of these two overseas player, same as I don't think martin will make any different to how we do.
As for Seymour if you have seen him play he is a pretty good player and if he head is right will do well in SL, got injured and couldn't get his place back to the outstanding young talent at the Warriors.
Forget other peoples signings I just can't see how anyone can justify this signings.

If Wigan are 'benefiting', then so can every other club.
The SC is all about a level playing field after all, is it not?
We signed deacon and only deacon 2 years ago, everyone was saying how his best days where at bradford. It turned out as a master stroke as he guided us to grand final and challenge cup success.
Prior to this we signed George Carmont similar time to Warrington signing King, everyone was saying warrington had got one over wigan and wigan where in decline! 4 Years on and hes one if not the best centres in super league.
At the end of the day centres are few and far between in the UK so we where bound to look overseas whilst the development of our own centres continues for next year when Carmont retires.
Brisbane took a punt last year on a lad called Jack Reed! Look how hes developed this year.
Leave Wigans recruitment to wigan and let's see whoose smiling at the end of the year, with good depth in the forwards with the signings of Lauaki, Dudson and Flower (2 YOUNG talents) and also now a 3rd on the way in Gelling we're clearly thinking outside the box a bit and looking for depth.
Wigans line up potentially next year could be
1. Sam Tomkins 2. Josh Charnley 3. Anthony Gelling 4. George Carmont 5. Pat Richards 6. Brett Finch 7. Tommy Leuluai 8. Lee Mossop 9. Mike McIllorum 10. Jeff Lima 11. Harrison Hansen 12. Liam Farrell 13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Paul Prescott 15. Stuart Fielden 16. Gareth Hock 17. Joe Mellor
You will not hear this wigan fan complaining to see that line up! considering we've got players such as Gil Dudson, Ben Flower, Lauaki, Chris Tuson, Dom Crosby, Darrell Goulding, Stefan Marsh, Amos Roberts, Ryan King, Matty Russell all waiting in reserve for their shot!
As I've said above I think you will do well, but could have done that without the signings of Gelling and maybe Lauaki.
Can't really compare Gelling to Deacon or Carmont who both were very experienced players, this is more like a Patrick Ah Van signing.
Still have a good side though nobody can argue with that, think Wane will have Lauaki in the 17 though.

It used to be. Most clubs now won't be on a level playing field at all.
You should be lucky it exists at all as Wigan are showing signs of becoming frustrated with being held back by fairness and wanting to spend their way to success like in the 80s and 90s.
