Compared to some of the drivel on here I find it quite entertaining, my only beef is that the thread title is incorrect :CURTAIN: .

Yes... well... the thread title was entirely intentional at the time 8) It was to illustrate the inherent flaws in comparing SL attendances by SL rounds... something which the RFL were quite adept producing on a regular basis last season producing figures which went unchallenged by their unquestioning adherents and acolytes. Round 1 attendances in 2013 were actually +1.59% up on last year when compared to the same fixtures between the same teams, but also skewed due to the fact that Round 1 attendances are naturally higher due to the excitement and interest a new season generates.

The supreme irony is that the thread title has so far proven to be extremely prophetic since SL attendances in 2013 thus far have tumbled by almost 12%

Before handing out the bouquets, bear in mind that Wakey's decent attendances are on the back of flogging huge numbers of discounted season tickets for £125 for adults (less than £10 a game) with teenagers paying less than £5 and kids less than £2 a game. Is that cost structure for a season ticket financially sustainable?

You'd have to ask them. Maybe the increased merchandise sales, food and drink sales and appeal to sponsors is more valuable than charging a few quid more each ticket? A hundred people paying 25quid or 500 people paying five quid? Incomes same, benefits are greater for the latter.

What format would you prefer? I'm interested in how this year's attendances compare to last years. If you know of something more grown up than lists let me know. I'm from Wigan, so a pie-chart would be nice.

Bullet points for a list. Every time. Numbered lists are useful because you can easily see which number in the list you are up to without counting. But you can colour in a bullet point or make it look like a love heart.

Lets not start this one again. RLBandit has already proven to us that it is FACT, that the more people who come the more money you make except when that doesn’t happen. Don’t start taking in to account other things like Merchandise sales, corporate sales or ticket price. Those things are irrelevant when deciding profit and loss except when they are factors in profit or loss.

God don’t you know anything.

You are going on my list…………..

Didn't work at Bradford and their attendances are now down by close to 25% this season and even more compared to 2011. And Wakey's main sponsor this season went bust without paying a penny - that's the kind of sponsor they appealed to.
