I know they bring in more sponsorship and look better on TV but I prefer going to Belle Vue than the KC or DW!

Wilderspool, Central Park and Boulevard all had better atmospheres than there current efforts. I do however prefer Langtree Park to Knowsley road.

My least favourite of all SL grounds I have been to is craven park. That temporary stand was dreadful.

As the pictures above are now showing, you wording is correct

Tre cool and Billy Rhino are clearly idiots with no self awareness to alert them to the fact.

You however love to portray yourself as a RL intellectual with your endless patronising waffle that you espouse on here. You love to pick and poke like some kind of super pedant dressing it all with lashings of condescension for those you consider less worthy than yourself.

Reading your comment, it's clear that despite the smokescreen - not very deep down - your just a nasty spiteful sh*t.

I just find it odd that on the eve of a decision to possibly move away from Belle Vue they finally start spending money on ground improvements.

Easty, they are temporary stands - the club have spent money improving the the viewing experience as much as they can short term - this is not the same as ground improvements of which there have been none.

It is a bit like putting lipstick on a pig but she certainly looks better (certainly at a distance) so every little helps. It's fitting that if NM happens the old lady goes out looking her best.

Should NM fail then BV will need to be looked at in a long term fashion but for now there is little point - in 52 days we will know for certain.

I'm not digging at you but anyone who can't see the difference is a fool.

A bit of a contradiction there. Craven Park was a dump but with lots of atmosphere. Credit to them for the improvements they are making. Presumably when they're finished and the ground has improved, you'll dislike it even more. Make your mind up.

Re: Stadium Developments : Mon Apr 23, 2012 1:35 pm
There's some right condescending bab talked on here about ground improvements.

The Wakefield situation is a simple one; the new BoD promised to improve BV in the short term, specifically to create more covered stands. That was an element of the franchise application and the RFL made clear that we had to back it up, or face a review of the franchise, mid-term. Off the back of that, Mr Glover secured new investment and spent somewhere in the region of £300k to deliver what he'd promised. I fail to see how that can be criticised.

For those people questoning the logic of spending money to make temporary improvements to a ground we don't intend to stay in - it's quite simple. The expenditure was an acceptable opportunity cost, to secure 3 years of SL money and all the attendant revenue that comes with it.

In about 57 days, we'll have a decision from Mr Pickles in respect of Newmarket; that delay would never have happened at all by the way, if the leader of Leeds City Council, the ironically named Mr Wakefield, hadn't spent around £25k of Leeds council tax payer's money to make them the only statutory objector to the scheme, precipitating a public inquiry.

He'd have been better giving the money to the Rhinos so they could put a lid on the North stand.

I was at that public inquiry - trust me, he'd have been better keeping hold of the brass; his 'representatives' were shambolic.

If it could be done for £25k it would have been.

Too much money, for too little benefit the north stand to ever be covered imo.

Silly me. I forgot that's where the away supporters stand.
