Not quite correct were you Colin?

Carry on.

Indeed. If you are going to be pedantic, :D It will be owned by Wakefield and District Community Trust, who have assets of £6.5 k! Not the actual Wakefield District Council per se,

And a million miles from Old Pinocchio's claim that you lot were building it!

Yeah, what council owned stadium?

I hope the council will give Cas a stadium too then

For the uneducated: the council are giving both the Cas and Wakefield stadium trusts £2m each, that's the only contribution they will make.

Nah, your only hope of a new stadium is if Newmarket gets the go ahead, that The Wakefield and District Community Trust allow you and Wakey to share it.

Something you should have sorted out years ago.

Based on what reasoning?

Based on the actions of your promised stadium development over the last 10 years. Add that Wakefield wouldn't spend all this money on covering stands and new facilities if you had a hope of being in a new stadium in the next few years.

It took St Helens & Salford 12 years, these things take time.

So you’re completely dismissing the FACT that we’ve just gone through a Public Enquiry with a decision pending. It’s also well worth noting that we have never been this far in a project before.

The news stands are a franchise promise which we are delivering on, something we should be commended for. It’s no secret that we were favourites for the chop in the last round of franchises. Credit to our new owner that he came up with project for the franchise application; I believe it put a lot of pressure on the RFL to keep us in and was a key factor in awarding us a new franchise.

If it gets past this enquiry who's putting up the money to build it?

Completely ignoring the fact that Wakey have a new owner and the board/owner who made those empty promises in the past is long gone.

How odd.

York Court on behalf of the Wakefield and District Community Trust. The land is partly on green belt and includes a big warehousing project, which is what York Court are interested in. To get the warehousing passed planning York Court have promised to build a community stadium, according to planning requirements, the stadium must be built before or at the same time as the warehouse units.
