Featherstone would bring nothing to Super League's national let alone international profile, other than another obscure or totally unknown tiny pit town on a map. Toronto on the other hand would bring international name recognition, tens of thousands of new fans, and millions of dollars in sponsorship. It's a no brainer. Toronto must win promotion for the good of the game.
you do exaggerate, tens of thousands of new fans and millions of dollars what a Leave out the name calling. Thank you. Karen. you really are

Maybe Bartholomew McKenzie will be seen less around these parts now he has no further opportunities to promote his faux love-in with Catalans & Toulouse after their meek surrenders recently. I've got nothing against either team btw but you almost feel impelled to want them to lose just so the troll goes crawling back under his stone (a 10 tonne boulder would be better ).
Not sure how much of the Toronto-Fev game I'll catch as I'll be driving to London but hopefully it's a tight affair like last season's playoff final.
The point of promotion is to reward the best team in the division . Then hopefully in the following season the promoted club will be competitive in Super League. The weakness of the top five play offs is that the fifth team will sometimes win promotion.I am not having a dig at Featherstone but you have to question the wisdom of promoting the fifth team in the division, if they win the final.whether it is Featherstone or any other team. For me the sensible thing would be to promote the top team in the Championship. As a climax to the season have a play off system to win a trophy, not to win promotion.
The contest to gain promotion from the Championship now mirrors what happens to decide the winner of SL. Why should it be different winning a trophy to gaining promotion? In football, the reverse of what you suggest holds true, with playoffs to determine the final make-up of promoted teams, and the winner of the Premier League being first past the post.
So, Fev have stated that if they gain promotion to SL they will be part time. sounds like a club who want to pocket most of the sky money to themselves, get into the top flight and make a profit and parachute back into the championship. I cannot see how been part-time will work in SL. What a farce.

I don't know where to start with this, but Fev have not "stated that they will be part time". You have half-read a badly-written piece on a RL website.
What Davide Longo said when asked about it was "we're looking at one or two options - a hybrid version of a full-time environment". Fev already have 16 players signed on for next season, I'd expect if Fev did get promoted some of those would renegotiate to being full time, some would stay part-time, and Fev would bring in a fair chunk of new full-time players...remember, the signings they have made so far have been based on a Championship budget and Fev might find themselves with more spare cash than most SL clubs if they did get promoted.
There are always more players than you'd think available after the season has ended, too - indeed, TotalRL did a story just this morning about Australian players that are known to be available and being offered to SL clubs https://www.totalrl.com/raft-of-nrl-pla ... e-clubs-2/ . The idea that Mark Campbell has spent the last 12 years ploughing masses of his own money into building Fev up, only to turn into a cheapskate once his ambition of reaching SL might be finally realised, is preposterous.
London came very close to staying in SL this year with basically the same team that finished 4th in the 2018 Championship plus a couple of additions. Whilst it would clearly be a tough ask, it's certainly possible that Fev could put together a competitive SL team by February.

Surprised you got that one past the 'mods', after the rollicking Boris got in Parliament, the other day!
The people with the brains in Super League, of whom Ian Lenagan is the supremo, will want Toronto to win tonight. There is simply no advantage to adding a geographical pinprick of a former pit town to a competition that proclaims itself "Super."
Toronto's victory on the other hand, will usher in a burst of media attention, and a reevaluation of the significance of rugby league from a British media that has rightly been contemptuous of the game's regional parochialism. If Toronto can retain its place, and Toulouse is promoted to join it this time next year, then we can look forward to an era of international development and respect.

Well, we'll soon find out, assuming TWP doesn't balls it up again. Robert Elstone, glove puppet of that supreme intellectual Ian Lenagan, is currently haggling with Sky over a new two (2) year deal! I can't even begin to imagine the likely riches that this new deal will bring one TWP is promoted.
