Just noticed this message from the RLWC 13 team on facebook:
"Hi everyone. Thanks for all the replies. We understand how passionate you are about Rugby League and RLWC2013, but please allow us to address some of your comments. These images (posters in Wigan) do not reflect all of the work being done to promote the tournament, and are merely intended as an example of recent activity close to our office at MediaCityUK in Salford. We are reaching a national audience, we are telling new people about RLWC2013 and we are attracting new supporters to matches - and the ticket sales stats we have back that up. We've sold more tickets for The Big Hit double header of semi-finals at Wembley on November 23 to people in London and the South East than any other region, and a record number of people currently not on the RFL's ticketing database are buying tickets to matches. We've been on the London Underground, we took over Trafalgar Square, we've been to Downing Street and we've been endorsed by London Mayor Boris Johnson. Our PR work has brought as a regular presence in the London Evening Standard, the Daily Mail and other national newspapers. We've been on the Chris Evans Show and we're regularly on Talk Sport. We're in talks with The One Show, we'll be on Blue Peter ahead of the tournament, and many other national TV shows. There is physical advertising in every host city, including Bristol, London, Manchester and Limerick, and we're currently filming a TV advert. And even all of this is just the tip of the iceberg! We've achieved a lot within our budget. Five of the seven sections at Old Trafford for The Final on November 30 are all but sold out and ticket sales at our other games are strong. We realise we're not everywhere, but we are working hard and we are getting results. Thanks, RLWC2013"
