What a ridiculous comment, what Leeds are to good for him are they. RL is full of players who have been nothing at one club only to have a certain talent spited by another club and go onto do great things. Yes even happens at the mighty Leeds!
Anyone who truly understands sport knows that you don’t judge players on what they did previously but what they can do right now. Clearly if true then someone at Leeds who will know way more than you ever will has spotted something.
They don’t all have to be fag end Aussies looking for a pension which is Leeds current methodology it seems.
Wow - that's rattled your cage.
I am interested in your examples of players who have bombed at other clubs but have been a massive success at Leeds?
Donaldson has been a very average SL player his whole career - a representation of his skill set. If the rumours are correct Leeds have been trying to offload a number of very average SL players so why would they want to increase the number of very average SL players in the squad?
Having players of this nature in your squad restricts the opportunities for younger players that have come through the junior development system. It would be a real shame if the likes of Cameron Smith didn't get the opportunity because the risk of playing him was greater than playing Donaldson.
In respect of the Aussies I would suggest Merrin's status is as high as anyone in SL - certainly he has done more in the game than the likes of David Fifita, Pauli Pauli etc.
