Catalan V Widnes in 2013 = 7,357
Catalan V Widnes in 2012 = 9,156
Percentage decrease in attendance = -19.65%

Huddersfield V Hull in 2013 = 5,536
Huddersfield V Hull in 2012 = 9,950
Percentage decrease in attendance = -44.36%

5 out of 5 fixtures thus far in SL Round 7 have registered a fall in attendance compared to the same fixtures between the same teams last year.

34 out of a total of 46 SL fixtures in 2013 have now registered a fall in attendance compared to the same fixtures between the same teams last year.

Ouch indeed. I wonder if both clubs have a number of fans who follow both rugby and football (like me with Leeds) who decided to go to the games at Elland Road and the KC instead.

I think the Huddersfield one is a combination of football, weather and date. The previous year the fixture was on a Sunday afternoon where our attendances are significantly higher than other days. I'm not excusing it, just giving a logical explanation why.

Thats a good question at least were huddersfield are concerned.I believe the fans of the giants are now paying closer to the going rate to watch sl so maybe fans are having to choose now

our lot dont really like anything but sunday afternoon games, its been like that for years

I think that's true for a lot of fans at a number of clubs.....I speak from experience.

I didn't see the game....what was the turnout like from Hull fans? They usually travel in good numbers.

to say how mickey poor the crowd was, it was a good turnout from hull fans
anthing between 500-1000 i would say, but its hard to judge on tv etc

I'd be curious to see what would happen to attendances if they all went back to Sunday afternoons. I know its never going to happen, though.
