Say they got nike to make all the kits and they paid a sponsorship fee, it could only work if the clubs got the fee split in a way that reflected shirt sales by individual clubs, because it wouldn't be fair on clubs like Leeds, Hull and Wigan that sold lots of shirts, and would have received a bigger fee when they had their individual contract, to be given the same cut as clubs that have no support like London, Salford and Huddersfield that sell a lot less replica shirts.
so on that basis wigan / leeds / saints / etc should get a bigger slice of the sky money?
clubs and fans need to learn that a stronger sport as a whole means a better life for them, which means (for now) giving an equal split (i'd even go as far as saying the smaller clubs should get more money/help), even if some clubs lose out in the short term, after all its the smaller clubs that need the help at the minute. i.e. which would be better wigan getting 50K and london getting 10K leading them to fall further behind and creating an even bigger gap or both wigan & london getting 30K helping london improving their team/structures, getting more fans in off the back of that, been better able to compete on the field and thus increasing the interest, leading to bigger sponsorships, more coverage, better sky deals, etc
