For a start, Hohia assaulted Flower TWICE before Flower reacted. Then Wellens also assaulted him and then Masoe stuck a left hook on him.
Bentham ignored all of these offences.
A month ago, Paul Wood smashed Pettybourne 3 times in the face and the same ref, Bentham. sent both players to the sin bin for ten minutes.
Last year Westwood broke Green's face in the 3rd minute of the game. It was broken as badly as Sam Burgess last week. The referee put that on report, no one got sent off and the game developed into the best GF ever played.
The point being there is no consistency in the refereeing, Phil Bentham is the worst referee on the planet and he ruined that match for 70,000 spectators plus the TV audience. Flower deserved a punishment, but the Saints should also have been equally as punished.

There have been thousands of incidents worse than Flower's.
