Time will tell on the first point. Every player's different, Merrin may be the exemplary pro who, having signed, does his absolute best for his new employer.
Was the money needed? The side was good enough to win a GF in 2017. But we now have a new ground to fill and need an x factor to make sure the crowds rock up. Also, there's the intriguing possibility that GH is trying to send a message to certain rival chairmen who feel they have a better grasp on how the game should be encouraged to flourish. Pretty sure Pearson has only this week promised the Hull fans some major signings in the coming weeks so maybe the stakes are being raised?
