How many of those come from your own youth set up?

At cas we have arundel, walker, thompson, milner, davies, massey, owen, westerman, holmes who are all under 24, all british, have all played first team sl this year and all from from our academy (as well having shenton and huby play this year at the age of 24, as well as ferres who was a scolarship player for us and is 24). Then of course we have played ainscough, netherton, cooper, tuson and wood under the age of 24 that are british and products of other youth set ups.

Whilst we have played -mcgoldrick, chase, widders, sargent, sherwin and evans who are overseas (which is the amount you are allowed by the rfl without exploiting any loopholes).

Each team is supposed to have at most 5 overseas players next season, using loopholes you have 9 (so far) are you honestly telling me you dont think thats poor? if it was the season you got promoted then fair enough as its difficult to build a squad with available players but 3 seasons in you should be doing better.

If you're just going to throw in players that have played about 1 or 2 games in some sort of attempt at one-upmanship then you can add Gareth Owen, Marc Sneyd, Jack Spencer, Toby Adamson along with Luke Adamson and Stefan Ratchford, all from our academy, along with the other players I already mentioned as well as Steve Tyrer and Dean McGilivray.

Well we have played 11 home grown players this season and we are 8th going into the last round so you can have both.

Several members of our youth squad are now filling in for some of the team's broken bodies. Gutsy and hard-working though they are, recent results will indicate just how backwards this policy would take our team. I wish it wasn't the case, but all of signings thus far do appear to be better options than our juniors.

I dont like it when people just list random british kids who have made the 1st team squad and have played like 2 sub appearences.

Saints, Leeds and Wigan are the only clubs imo, who can point to a successful academy, year on year.

Its looking more and more likely that Big Willie is going to be playing in the UK next year well if this report can be belived.

Not sure what I think about it TBH.

Ofcourse you can't. Haven't you seen the league? The teams who are at the top defo don't have the best youth policies and are filled with Aussi.... nevermind.

Academy trained (under 24)
walker-6 appearances, was originally behind massey in the pecking order, likely to play this week
massey- 2 appearances but has missed most of the season through injury (played 3 times last year).
Davies- 1 appearance but again has had a long term injury
thompson- 15 appearances (2 last season), missed games through illness, may play this week.
milner-3 appearances only but another one likely for this week
holmes- 4 appearances, playing in a position we are stong in, may play this week.
owen- 3 appearances, 69 previous games, out for season after 3 games.
arundel- 7 appearances, 1 previos appearance, has missed games through injury, likely to play this week.
westerman- 24 appearances, 77 games before this season, will play this week

so only two of those players 'played 1 or 2 games' both of whom have been restricted by injury.

academy trained (24 years old)

shenton- 21 appearances, has played more 150 times, with some games missed through knee and hand injuries, will play this week
huby- 25 appearances, has appeared over 150 times, will play this week.

players under 24 not from our academy
Shaun Ainscough - 7 apps (loan ended)
Mike Cooper - 6 apps, (loan ended)
Chris Tuson - 8 apps, (loan ended)
Kyle Wood - 5 apps (loan ended)
netherton- 3 apps- (went on loan then asked for release)

as well as ferres who was our scolarship player and is a cas lad who made 17 appearances after missing months through injury.

And they will all be better players for it and if they cant get enough game time they will go elsewhere as we discovered with boyle, lunt, gledhill etc.

One of those with 3 broke his leg and has been missing since, whats your point? that cas should play injured players?

The other one with 3 has played in 2 of the 6 games since making his debut with another likely to come.

The one who made 4 appearances plays in the position we are strongest in, and may well play again this week.
