I think it’s ridiculous that come round 24, the 9th placed SL club will be in exactly the same possible as the 12th placed club, the number of points accumulated in rounds 1-23 will be worthless.
Personally I don’t think we should have relegation, as is the case in the NRL and in nearly all American/Australian sports, which are very successful. If we are going to insist on having relegation, yes it should be the team that finishes in last place.
Whilst I believe that we should have relegation (and we're never going to agree on that).
I do think that your right, and that it's the bottom placed team that goes down. For the same reason I don't like the GF, or top 4 play offs. After 23 rd's, you replace the league with what is basically a cup competition. Rendering what has happened before meaningless other than the way the fixtures fall.
The problem we have regards Australian/American sports, is that they have such an infrastructure below the professional aspect, that it's all geared for success. We don't. They are also very good at selling there sports, we aren't. They also make attending a game an event, we can't be bothered. Plus the amount of coverage in the media etc.
And funny enough there both very insular countries. That would take years (if at all), to possibly think of allowing another country to join, looking at every aspect to see that it's successful. We don't.
