I couldn't agree more. Added to which I think God Save the Queen / King* (* delete as applicable) is an absolute dirge.

Land of Hope and Glory is stirring although it would probably be ruled out due to echoes of imperialism in it's lyrics.

Jerusalem is also a great hymn.
