It can't be killing the pound as by your own figures £1 = around $1.5Aus.
Infact the currect exchange rates are as follows.
1 GBP = 1.55015 AUD
1 AUD = 0.64510 GBP.
My £1 would buy 1.5 of your shares.
Your $1 would buy 0.64 of my shares.

It's all relative though. if I earnt $10 an hour (4 pound an hour) in 2006 and I now earn $10 an hour it is worth 6.50 now. For an Aussie coming on holiday or buying goods from overseas it is brilliant! My $5000 spending money got me 2000pound last time I was back, just changed the same and got 3,300pound. That's quite a few more pints of John Smith's and chip butties!!

You get more I agree but I would never call it killing the pound as the GBP is still far stronger, Infact the GBP has been strong against most currencies for as long as I can remember.

Nope it is killing it, relative to historical rates of the two currencies. The pound is weak, the AUD is strong. If your a currency trader that is how they would rate it. It's even better against the US$, America on holiday next year!

If the AUD was so strong and the GBP so weak they would be around 1-1 , That isn't the case.
