There really is no excuse for anyone to be that overweight. It's calories versus exercise. I felt the same about Dave Woods when he was at Cas. How can you lecture & teach players a healthy lifestyle, & expect to be respected?

I have followed Salford home and away for 25+ years, and hardly missed a game. I would even go to games when I was 100% certain they would lose (including Australia in '97)... and even people like myself have started to lose interest due to the inept performances. What hurts most is the lack of effort in my clubs shirt by a number of players who either don't want to be there or don't want to play for the coach. It's getting to the point that watching Salford is that bad, it's putting me off the game in general. My house backs onto a rugby field and every weekend there is a game on... I always watch the game.... this week, I sat watching rubbish on TV because I couldn't drum up the enthusiasm to go outside my back gate...(I can even watch the game from my bedroom window and couldn't be bothered doing that either).

Now if watching Salford is putting me off the game I love... somebody who has been described as having an unhealthy obsession with this sport... then surely things are grimmer than grim and something has to be done.

At the moment I don't see why I have to pay £17+ a week to watch that... when I could buy my kids something to put a smile on their faces that will give me much greater pleasure seeing them enjoy themselves.

So... before people start banging on about a 3 year franchise giving us time to get it right.... try turning up at The Willows and watching the garbage we have to pay for, and tell me that we should be patient.

I understand completely. In 2003, the only match i missed was London away. It was the only one we won. That was my annus horribilis. Thank God we were relegated to a division we could compete in. (We survived relegation in 2004 in a knockout final with York ). Things are great now though - 5 years on.

Be patient.

Oh, I get it, these are the alternatives. Sorry, took me a while to get what you were saying. We obviously agree about Catalans, not sure why you're bringing Wakefield into this - they gave "the other" Tony Smith forever in the job before replacing him with Kear, who is anything but unproven.

Now the weekend's results are in for Catalans & Salford I'm sure Alice's Phallus would like to clarify his opinion of the two coaches. How bad are they?
