What a stupid idea, playing it in Paris. What do the French RL think is going to happen?.

Playing an international in the national capital? Stupid! RL should accept it's a small regional interest that the country at large (whether that's the UK, France, New Zealand or Austlralia) just doesn't care about. Thank god the RFL gave up playing GB internationals at Wembley.

I thought we were supposed to be trying to promote our sport and Les Catalans? Surely that objective is best served by taking a flagship international and playing in that area? We could use one of the local football stadiums and get a big crowd with the potential from attracting long-term support.

That's my gripe with this as well. The 13th June is my birthday and I've booked a hotel in Cardiff for the Wigan game and after much wrangling with my boss booked the weekend off work. I will not be best pleased if the game gets moved. I'll still be a bit peed off if the game does go ahead but Hock and O'Loughlin get picked for England. To be perfectly honest I couldn't give a toss about a meaningless friendly that means two of my team's best players cant play for their club.

Which is probably about the same attitude as that held by the clubs themselves, to be fair – and at least an element of why the international game, in England at least, is in the state that it is.

To be fair I can see his point with a trip already booked and paid for.
IMO these friendlies/4N games should have been finalised as soon as last years world cup finished at the latest!
Having said that a few other sports play club fixtures regardless and if you're down a couple of players due to Int. duty then tough..

good point and one ive made on here before.
other sports have these kind of fixtures planned, organised and confirmed long before the actual match day.
it isnt that hard, but the rugby league powers that be seem intent on making it look that way.

From looking at the RFU's website, they have just announced a game in June at Lod Trafford, and they have no fixtures in for this autumn yet.

Is the RFL really inept, or do they follow a similar process to other sports?

I've never been charged £6+ for half a lager in Paris either. Mind, I do avoid the most obvious grockel haunts.

On the other hand, in my experience (as someone who lives in London) eating out here is more expensive than in Paris – and the food is generally better over there.

Go to the bring your own places on Kingsland Road and it's much cheaper than Paris
