It was a play on Are You Being Served. Not Toronto's unpaid bills. The fact i have to explain this suggests you are a younger generation
The fact you did explain it to him was only rising to the bait. Argyle interview sees him appeal for TWP to be treated like any other team. He confirms his spend at $30M (which equates to £18M). Once again his wealth is at least $1000M and could be multiples of that. Money isn't his problem.
Then over to Brian Noble who doesn't even comprehend that the "business model" is merely throwing $Millions at the club. He cites the clubs inability to play at Lamport being central in the clubs collapse because somehow they lost revenues due to no home games. He appears to indicate in all there were 12,000 TWP fans and that the club has gone bust on losing that revenue.
Fans on "the other side" are posting their matchday experiences on trips to Toronto and confirming that the crowds were not always what they were announced and that many fans were seen walking straight in without offering any proof of payment and once the game started gates would be left open. Free tickets like confetti and many so called fans only there for the beer. All of that is fine if the club wants to build a crowd and build interest in the game, but Noble should not pretend they went bust on the lack of crowd income.
Short interview with Elstone well trained at saying very little in as many words as needed to get past the microphone in which he delivered this message
"David Argyle was aware of the fine detail and financial challenges from the start" There never was any SKY money on offer to him, another "blame someone else" nonsense.
Truth is Covid has been a great excuse for him to exit a party where he realised he was not wanted. I would be sure there's a massive fanfare and welcome waiting for him when he arrives at Melbourne Storm.
