That's how I saw it. Harsh call but probably the right one. Marshall also put his for on the dead ball line ref missed that should have been a Wigan drop out. Don't think anyone could deny hull that, they were best side

if you're going to be picky then a strike to the head of Mark Syned by a Wigan player which cuts his head should have being a yellow, then two sin bins missed by the officials against Wigan for a swinging arm and a crusher tackle. Then the obvious stepping on the whitewash that the in goal official didn't bother looking at that gave Wigan field position.
it's all swings and roundabouts, get over it, we won and were by far the better team. Credit to Wigan for a great defensive effort.

Probably because there wasn't any in-goal official.

FC had most of the 50/50 calls go their way especially in the second half. That stated, though it pains me as a Rovers supporter, they deserved the win, they were all over Wigan and the pies did well to keep it close.

BTW I though Houghton milking the penalty in the first half with the Wigan player in the way of the PTB had been stamped on earlier this season?

There was a distinct lack of buzz building up for the final I thought across the sports. I don't recall the BBC promoting it much if at all.

Wasn't that long ago that the majority of travelling fans would go by coach. To suggest that so many now choose not to go because of issues with the train seems a bit implausible.
