What you fail to mention is that whilst SJM funded your revival your club stuck with Cullen, once they finally saw the light and brought in Smith success came pretty quickly.
But Paul Cullen built most of the team that eventually broke through under Smith. I'm very happy with Warrington's record since 2009 but the fact remains that we still haven't won SL. Maybe we had some bad luck with injuries in last year's final but that just proves how damn difficult it is to become champions.
was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

If you asked Marwan Koukash what attendances he expects he'd tell you sell outs every week. Realistically we should be aiming for 8,000 averages although this will take a couple of years of reasonable league finishes and cup runs to achieve.
8K?

The absolute minimum for this season should 5,000.
....and do we have a definitive number on the season ticket sales to date? I've seen estimates of 9k for the opener v Wakefield, but after that? How long until we see the club going down the groupon route and discounting heavily? You have a pretty kind opening few weeks to the season, so a good start will help. I agree though, less than 5k and the Good Dr might not be best pleased!

I'd love to see your calculations to Marwan's 750-800k shortfall though, I assume it includes all major revenue streams such as club/player sponsorships, hospitality, merchandise sales etc?
They are similar to those accepted by the RFL as regards Bradford's business plan.....worked out on a beer mat and not worth the paper they are written on.....but if you come in at 5k this year, other SL clubs turning over 4 million a year have stated that 10k is the break even figure........I suspect the good Dr will look to OK's investment/loan/whatever it was of 900k last year at Bradford....and they had an 8,500 average.
Still, the good spin doctor is tweeting his little heart out and long may his involvement in RL continue!
to be fair he is a self made man. Claimed asylum in the uk with his family during the up rest in Kuwait i believe. Studied his ass off got his PHD opened up a business consultancy company grew that whilst still being a Professor in a university, obviously other ventures during the mean time.
I was wondering whether he is as wealthy as he appears? It all seems odd to me.

the beauty of money with a middle eastern influence....who cares, there's loads of it Horse racing and particularly, Race Horse ownership is not a game for those without very deep pockets......he has wedge and in reality, nobody knows where it comes from other than him and his accountant!

Bloody ell mate you can't half see the jealousy And resentment in your posts, a lot of you are underestimating the Salford public, don't forget all those clubs like Bradford Wigan Leeds Wire Hull saints have all had recent success so fans from those areas have a attractive proposition and a wanting to see their team (who very likely) can get to a final or win one again that's what gets them off their backsides to go. At Salford the public have seen worse than s*it for over 25/30 years how the hell can anybody blame fans for not going, if they see a team worth watching they'll go and watch simple as that. Instead of trying to pick the Salford club apart in a childish jelous way, it would be better if people just kept quiet and wished them luck.
Everybody knows eventually Salford will do something, with a chairman with a personal wealth of £600million he's by far the richest guy in rugby league and he's not afraid to spend it, which is good for the game, and not a lot of people will realise but they will, that Marwan is the man that eventually will drag rugby league up by the scruff of its neck and finally make sure it is run and promoted in the correct way.

Insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme.

Political ends, as sad remains, will die.
As a Salfordian who remembers the days BEFORE Watkins, Charlton etc., I am happy to go along with the ride.
13 months ago, I did not have a club that could stay in Super League. Today, I have a club that is challenging for the play-offs.
In the past, I have seen a fine crop of youngsters flourish under Hunte but wondered how many we could keep. now I know they will want to stay as we are increasingly being seen as having potential to be very successful: players want to be part of that.
Finally, I want a chairman who aims high, who pushes us into the limelight. Many of you attend the Magic weekend and/or the Grand final and then go home. You enjoy the occasion and the buzz. You see RL as important. The Rugby league fans who live in the conurbation have 24 hours of football talk and media. They get four/five /six pages in the MEN. We live with a column or two every few days: often less than Sale gets. The good doctor is making inroads into that.

Jealous of what? Seriously, I wish the good Dr well, but when he's invested 10% of the wedge David Hughes has over the years, come back and tell me I'm jealous ...FFS, you've won nothing and yet we're supposed to be jealous!

Really.....you reckon there's the interest there IF they win something?....the same argument works both ways then....and currently, you've won SFA.

Better for whom? This thread is predicting great things for the reds and nobody wishes then anything but all the luck in the world, but by heck, you aren't half going to look loving daft once you get to playing the top tier teams.....the Likes of Wire and Wigan will shred you.

As I said, the more of him in the game the better, but this isn't soccer. There's a cap...he wont be able to buy success.....and once again, good luck for the season, I suspect that once you've slipped out of the challenge cup and the easy games in SL dry up, you're going to need it.
I predict Salford will finish higher than 2013......

PLEASE don't encourage him!
