Have any of you suggesting Land of Hope and Glory ever actually listened to it?

Yes, the "Land of Hope and Glooooooory" chorus is fantastically grand and uplifting, but for the most it's a lively, jolly little jaunt that bounces around all over the place without lyrics. Not a national anthem by any stretch. Cutting it to the chorus alone would sound a bit daft.

For RL, "Jerusalem" would be ideal.

Not that it'll change.

God Save the Queen (Sex Pistols version) would certainly liven things up. Can see Ray french pogoing as we speak.

It would be a nightmarish northern version of last night of the proms. The damage that the years of Ray French/Alex Murphy commentating did to the game's image would be nothing in comparision.

It really doesn't bear thinking about.

surely tubthumping would be apt for a RL team, especially England at Int level?

How about every nation just sings their national anthem? Home nations can pretend that GSTQ isn't their national anthem all they want but whether they like it or not, it is.
