Noble's been talking nonsense since he went to TWP, it's in the contract to talk rubbish, they think it works. But if you have been around as long as me it is the modus operandi to talk your club up to the stars on the eve of the season, I can recall many a not very good club scraping promotion to the top division and basically saying we are in it to win it and not just survive. TWP's relatively poor recruitment for this season screams otherwise but fans don't pay as much attention to this detail than they do soundbites and headlines.

It's season ticket sales talk, once the punters have paid up front for the whole year, it doesn't matter how dismal your performances are...........The real news here is the massive losses they have racked up, which they are trying to excuse as "investment". I bet "Ottawa" & "New York" are looking at those figures and thinking eeeekkkkk!! Do they really want to spend that then get blocked when the new TV deal comes 2022. Behind the headlines the fine details tell us there will be no NY or Ottawa, not unless they have "Billionaires" with £Millions to flush down the pan.

It's an outright lie that will be lapped up by RL zealots alone. I understand the reasons they are lying and have no problem with that... But when they get fewer visiting fans than they project and have to drive around the middle of toronro handing out freebies to all the bars, then they will have a problem. One solution is to not have TV coverage showing the half empty stadium..... A solution they have in place.......but they cant fix the scoreboard and their squad is decidedly average and their coach has coached average sides before with no success at either london or latterly at leeds..... Toronto need to win more than they lose at home in 2020......

At this time of year, there's a lot of baubles spoken.

As I said months ago, I don't know what part of TWP smashing all their targets over the last 3 years makes you think they are no chance of reaching their future targets.

1. They've not smashed all their targets...they've hit one which in reality they should have set as 2 years given they could buy anything they wanted.
2. They spent more money in 2017 in C1 Than the other 11 sides in that comp. They then spent more than the entire championship the following year before bottling it and then again, outspent the entire comp in 2019 and were promoted.
3. They are still reliant on free tickets and a beer festival to even half fill their ground...they target an extra 1,000 ST sales on the back of SBW.....that's about £165,000....or 2 games wages for SBW....
4. They have no NA TV deal in place or on the horizon...a target that they set themselves.
5. They have no NA Players in "situ" or on the horizon...again, a target that they set themselves

Toronto have bought SBW, a once powerhouse of the game who is nearing the end of his abilities and surrounded him with average players and a coach who has no record of anything other than winning with a team of stars. They have yet to declare their sponsor for 2020 or unveiled their shirt either......the shine is starting to fade from the polished turd

The Toronto centre Richard Leutele, formerly a star of the Cronulla Sharks, is hardly an average player. He is class. If Toronto play Sonny Bill Williams on Richard Leutele’s side of the field, the effects on opposing Super League sides could be devastating.
