the world cup team have gone in to Facebook update overdrive today, you can't accuse them of not trying!

Been confirmed that Richard & Adam from Britain's Got Talent, Carolynne Pool of the XFactor & the guy who is currently playing the lead in Les Mis in the West End are doing the pre-match stuff on Saturday.

Saw a brilliant, huge full colour TV screen advert through the murk this morning at Silicon Roundabout (Old Street) in London.

Just clicked on section 144 and clicked 10 tickets, they were offered to me. Same story in many other of the blocks at 50 pounds that have SOLD OUT. If i was a customer wanting to go to the game and all i see is SOLD OUT in all the decent areas i might think of watching it on the TV. Why have areas as SOLD OUT when they clearly are not, you can get up to 10 tickets in many of the SOLD OUT sections in the middle of the pitch.

Strange.

They were in St Helens last Saturday night for the Christmas lights switch on. Presumably the few thousand more ticket sales announced today over yesterday are all the teenage girls packing in to watch them do whatever it is they do! (I don't watch Britains Got Talent so I'd never heard of them before Saturday)

You couldn't do that yesterday (I couldn't anyway) so I presume they're sponsors returns like we had for the final. It's not ideal I suppose but who do you blame? I don't see why ticketmaster could have had a live system like they do for many gigs but maybe that would have cost the RFL more? Who knows.

Its certainly something worth looking at for next time.

Its easy to fix, change the big graphic of the stadium to show areas they have availability. It really is shoddy, the web site has been pretty shoddy throughout the tournament, missing images, broken links, lots of downtime and now showing areas as SOLD OUT when they are not.

for the French World Cup games Ticketmaster let you click on the blocks and see in detail what seats were free, if they can offer it at smaller grounds like Avignon & Perpinan surely the UK site could have managed it for Wembley?

I guess they stuck with the current system as it is what they have been using it for some time now via rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk. I imagine during the post comp review process it is one of the issues that will be raised.
