Haven't actually watched the 1 st game , but in the Wire ,Saints game 24 th minute , Ashton Simms continues to hold onto Saints player after tackle completed and Saints player lashed out and connected with an open hand , essentially identical to what Hock did last week , should he have been yellow carded as all were suggesting last week ?

I await the outrage on here

No point being reasonable here though because you'll never think anything other than that farce was fairly officiated.

Which is what happens in every game by every team and officials, not sure why you think we deserve criticism for something that is part of the game these days

There's nothing wrong with that approach (personally I'd prefer a more open style but that's personal preference). But that slowing of the play the ball needs to be achieved by putting more men into the tackle rather than through holding down and interference.
At the moment Huddersfield are pushing the line too far with holding down and interference but not getting penalised for it.

Just us then? Must have missed every single team using those tactics in the last few years!

Simple solution to all the slowing down and messing about

Once a player has been put to ground or the ref has called held , defending players should not be allowed to change their grip/hold on the tackled player , if they do , it's a penalty , this would sort out all the issues we are currently seeing including the leaning on and pushing players as they PTB

The only thing thaler got wrong imo was not allowing catalan to retake the conversion dureau missed. Clear as day hudds player were encroaching on the kicker

I didn't say it was just Huddersfield. Just that controlling the speed of the play the ball is more important to Huddersfield than most other teams.

Huby, Crabtree, Kopczak, Ferres all do their bit each time I see Huddersfield. Plus the rest work well as a unit. Your forwards work very hard both in attack and defence. Which is why you're difficult to beat.

They're the worst team in SL to watch. Very low risk with the ball, spoiling rugby without it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Game of the weekend, but because there were no soft tries in the first half, it was deemed 'not good enough' for the Magic Weekend, absolute pish. It was very intense.

Don't agree with the call for a penalty try against Mcgilviray either, not even taking the mickey here but I applaud his effort and determination to get back and save his team. He then goes and gets a brilliant try to earn his team a point, how he didn't receive MOTM and Dureau did for missing that kick, I don't know.

Hudds didn't deserve to lose. Probably a fair result.

Silly thread. It'll be some other clubs turn to be critized for playing style next. If people don't like it they don't have to watch us. We aren't doing anything illegal... We just do what a lot of other clubs do but currently doing it better.

Far from wearing claret and gold glasses but I think we and Catalan served up a real good game today. First half included!
