I think stability and getting a team in Championship One or Conference has to be the aim and not even think about SL for now. I am not sure what facilities are like at Wrexham RU club but that could be another short term option though a merger with Scorpions and Championship rugby next year could be the RFL's prefered option but a real kick in the nuts for those supporters in the North.

I'd like to see a resurrected Wrexham side but there is no value in the "Crusaders" moniker. I should be scrapped and never used again by any Welsh side.

As far as gauging the potential in the South West, I'd have thought the rumoured Wembley international double-header at the end of the season would be good way to do this.

Indeed you should if you think RL should be resurrected in Wrexham.

Ooops, a tiny typo there.

I'd like to see a representative of every major town / city in Britain in the professional pyramid. Wrexham are a medium sized town so I'd like them to have a team. I don't think it will happen though.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I really hope that when Dickie & Nige come knocking on the doors of the Championship leagues clubs and say that they would like to admit Crusaders then I hope the chairmen of those clubs stand firm and say no chance, we're refusing to play in any league with them in it.

As much as I understand the injustice and anger felt towards the way things have turned out Derwent , we need more clubs , and if a club can be reborn from this fiasco , with guarantees there will not be any excessive attempts to push them forward until they can support themselves , then I'd welcome them into the Championships

I'd even consider letting the RFL give them extra funding for a set period as long as that was tied into a no promotion clause and was all out in the open

Would such guarantees be worth the paper they're written on though ?

Let me make it clear, my problem isn't with the club themselves it is with the RFL who have orchestrated this whole shoddy affair and now are looking to the clubs that they allowed Celtic to trample all over in the first place to be their saviours and salvage something out of it to save face.

Effectively they would be asking Championship clubs to allow Crusaders in to be 'on hold' for another stab at SL, because we all know that as soon as practically possible the RFL would be manouvring them in that direction again. Any Championship club with ambition of their own would be mad to agree to it unless they had cast iron guarantees and an option to sue if favouritism is shown at any time in the future.
