Surely it’s just a case of carry on the super league season but the team that was due to play Toronto now gets a ‘bye’ week. Like bury in football.
Why get into the complicated situation of picking a team to replace them with less than 2 weeks notice. Whoever gets picked will likely be on the losing side every week, especially given the championship hasn’t got a restart date so likely no one is training. This leaves them as unprepared as Toronto were going to be.
Plus you face moans from the teams not picked as to why it should have been them.
In a way it’s a shame for Toronto but in a lot of ways common sense has won the day. Logistics!
My only hope is that maybe the money men can get involved at other clubs closer to home and are not lost to the game as we could do with the money in our game. But how do you get them to invest here when it’s their money? Frustrating as you think how much could have been achieved at a number of clubs with a fraction of the money Toronto have blown
