The original plan was for Whitehaven to have a new stadium built on the site of their existing one but it's not happened for one reason or another.

Yes I just read that elsewhere. Derwent park has had half a million spent on renovating it.

OK moved as much of the arguement over averages as I could to a new thread. it's here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=560730&tsmp=1383055182 CAn we keep this thread about tickets sales and not sematics about averages. I did not want to lock it but it was getting that way. We have a thread now for argueing averages. This thread about speculation of games to come and a thread about actual attendances. That's 3 threads pick the right one, please!

Less than 1,500 south stand and less than 1,000 Carnegie terrace left for nz v PNG at headingley.
Two stands almost sold out at Wrexham for USA - Wales

Looks like some East Stand tickets have gone on sale in Block H for the game at Leigh. Only been odd blocks on sale in there previously as I believe there will be school groups in there etc? Very few left in the West and not too many in the South either.

IIRC they have sold 4-5000 for the USA v Cook Islands, which I pretty good going for being in Bristol with two lesser known teams.

Could get a good boost from walk up sales too given national coverage of the RLWC. Bristol council has promoted the game heavily too with a host of locally themed events.

I'm really looking forward to it.

That is a pretty good result if that's the case. It's probably the hardest sell of the round when you take into acount the teams and the distance from a big RL club.

It'll be interesting to see the crowd figures for the next two matches.
Apparently there's nothing but positives come from up in Cumbria about ticket sales, which is always a good thing!
And as i've just seen there, 5,000 sold for Bristol is a great achievement, and with the Walk-Up Crowd, that can only enhance the crowd, it's a very exciting time, and well done to Bristol, they sound like they've made a real effort and that can only be really good for the sport!
I have been very surprised by ticket sales so far, whats that two sell outs, and 45k for the opening ceremony well done everyone! and there's more to come incl. the French games and England!

Very exciting stuff, it sounds like the vast majority are like me and have really been struck by WC Fever, since the opening ceremony on Saturday! I've went out and bought tickets for Leigh, Salford, Wrexham and Leeds taking my tally to 10 games, sadly i missed NZ on sunday, due to other commitments, and gave my tickets away, otherwise it would have been 11!

I'm delightfully impressed by the coverage in the press, especially by the Beeb who seems to putting RL stories near the top and plenty of coverage on their website. Hopefully the momentum sticks, and we can see even more sales, especially at Wembley!

I assume the Final has sold out now too? and Wembley? Well 81,000 is the record, lets break it!
