Hohaia didnt smash him in the jaw, your painting that far worse than it was. It looked far far worse in slow-mo but in real time Hohaia simply barged in to him and his arm bounced up and did hit him but MciLorum hits a kicker late with a similar impact 3 times a week. Flower barely moved backwards, a full on forearm smash to the face by a pro athlete and i dont care if you are Lennox Lewis, you dont take it that easy.

If Flower doesnt swing, and that was the end of the matter, nobody would be on here arguing Hohaia should have gone, its forgotten.

When was the last time anyone from any sport had charges pressed against them for something that happened on a pitch? I think Cantona only got 2 weeks for kicking and repeatedly punching a fan in the crowd, Flower's attack is nowhere near comparable.

It doesnt happen often because the powers that be agree and bring pressure to hush it up kiss and make up,But again like i said it is certainly not 'stupid' to assume assault charges could not be pressed whether its in a back entry in King street or on the pitch especially tonight with lots of witnesses.comparing apples and oranges with the Cantona kick is quite frankly fascile an assault is an assault, law is not a preserve of sporting authorities especially if an assault of that severity threatens someones life.

no surprise that shaun wane is "standing by" Ben flower

It's the Wigan-Saints derby and everybody is getting whacked off the ball and he made an error.

"He'll be really upset with what he's done to his team-mates, but that's just the character and why we love Ben Flower so much.

"The RFL will deal with that [the punishment] accordingly, and whatever he gets, I'll stand by him. I'll make sure he understands that sort of thing can't happen again.

so coach or player don't seem upset that he could have seriously injured a defenceless opponent? just about sums it up!
