JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
Genuine question here. Back in the day when you were gutterfax and shep were a pup, a lot of people on here, including yourself, used to harp on about the 250,000 kids playing rugby league in london on a weekly basis. How come nothing was built on this foundation? Did the kids just get bored? Schools stop playing the game? No amateur clubs set up?

Genuine question here. Back in the day, what name did you go by on these boards to know what Gutterfax was saying? Regards The Lord Your God.
Note to Moderators. 3 posters (e Bron, Sir Kev and Joff) in particular seem intent on calling me out collectively by claiming to know who I am and harping on about bans etc....if this isn't proof that these goons are in cahoots then I really am at a loss as to what constitutes trolling anymore.
As I have shown, to the other collective troll I was addressing a while back whilst discussing the claim about a top SL team and nothing to do with the Challenge Cup....., Catalans have won only 42% of their regular season SL games since the end of licensing. 42% of games would deliver 22.68 points, or 6th spot this year, 7th last, 5th in 2016 and 6th again in 2015...they are a mid table outfit, not once finishing in the top 4 spots, which defines a top SL team. Tey did finish 4th once, some 7 seasons ago, but since then they have dropped to the ignominy of having to win the MPG just to survive less than 12 months ago......they are mid table at best
They did make it to the play offs semi final one year. I do think if Catalan wouldn't have lost Trent Robinson then they would have quite possibly won a grand final by now. He was on his way to building something real special.

London made 2 play offs and finished 2nd in the league as well as making a Challenge Cup final........if Ian Lenegan had been permitted to bankroll them instead of handing the club to a guy who can't tie his own laces (but can afford to pay someone to do it for him), we'd still be in SL.....and if my auntie had ball she'd be my uncle, the reality is that Catalan are currently (since the ed of licencing) a 6th place 42% win team, not a "top SL side" as claimed by the troll collective
Challenge Cup winners Catalan are a top Super League side. They had no half backs and had a dreadful start to the year, hence the skewed percentage figure you keep referring to.

Nah....29 wins from 69 games 2015-17 delivers a 42% ratio........this year they were 43%
Any thoughts on symmetry below?

I personally think if Toronto , Toulouse or London finish in a position to get into Superleague then it will be on merit and they deserve their place...if i am being selfish i would like Toulouse to stay down for one more season then my daughter and myself can visit them in 2019 .
It looks like one will replace Widnes ..Good luck to them all in the remaining games
Why are the mods letting Lebron , SKS, Jean whatever he is called etc ,etc derail every single discussion.
As the creator this thread I have no interest in derailing it. On the contrary I am interested in other people's answers to the original question, answers which may of course change as the Middle 8s competition progresses.

Thanks for bringing the thread back on topic.
