Anyone else doing the pre and post match for Fiji v Ire in the Flying Horse?

I saw this yesterday, it's a great idea. I'm intrigued so I may make the effort to pop in and try out some Fijian cuisine.

Got my tickets through today for the semi double header and Wales vs Cook islands in Neath (temporarily living in Wales does have some advantages).

Was encouraged to get tickets by the ticket prices. £5 for the Wales game (student prices). Exceptional value - well done to whoever is setting the prices.

The ticket prices have been spot on, especially with all the codes flying about (even so close to the start), I'll be attending all 3 games in Hull, Tonga V Italy at Halifax and NZ V PNG at Leeds and it will have cost me just over £35.

Costing me less than £30 for half way line seats at the Wigan QF (probably England) and the final behind the posts.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: World Cup Ticket Sales : Thu Oct 24, 2013 5:29 pm
At the risk of losing my badge.

I don't get the frustration that some feel over a few posters. If you look at the posters on this thread 99% of them are positive about the game.

The thread is about ticket sales, but mostly it's ticket speculation. Now most are taking the speculation offered from RL Jurno's at face value and I'm fine with that. If one or two choose to not believe it or if they do believe it they say it's not good enough, I really don't take great um-bridge with that.

In the end the discussion has been in the main on topic. The swearing has been kept to a minimum as have the insults. I would love it if 100% of posters where positive about RL. But I understand that some people will just want to grind an ax no matter the outcome.

If we are going to start bans due to popular demand, for me that a dangerous president to set.

Also don't forget self moderation is available- the ignore function means you can live in a totally positive spin world if that is your thing.

The AUP is pretty clear about what you can get bans for. Being a generally negative bod about all things RL related is not one of them yet. But also RLfans is a wide board. It's going to have a few grumps.

Anyway I'm feeling a ban on the way myself now.

I'm going to buy some tickets for the Wire quarter final and possibly Wrexham (to cover the slim prospect of England playing there). I'd go to Wrexham regardless so I may as well but I'm not sure all the guys we go with will want to.

Think that will be me done then and will take my total matches to about 10 or 11.

The girl who has been organising the World Cup said on the red button that she expects the Final to sell out within the next few days (less than a week). That's good news.

I happen to think that Wembley will be a sell out, assuming England get to the semis, which would mean a great finish to the tounament.

Just hope the crowd on Saturday is big and looks good on TV and the matches, especially the England one are crackers. If so, the tournament will be awesome.

No Sadfish,I mean precisely what I said,'despite the efforts of rlfans.com,the competition is set to be a success.

rlfans.com condone the two anti rugby league posters, dispite the requests of the vast majority of posters for them to be banned and therefore quite clearly rlfans.com is trying to undermine both rl and the tournament.

There have been repeated polite requests to ban the people in question, they have been banned by other sites, yet repeatedly rlfans.com condone their clear objectives.

Point of order.
1. I am not anti-RL whatever you care to think and no matter how many times you say it. I distrust and disagree with the RFL and the manner in which they govern the game, but have no problem with the sport itself, as I am a fan of London Broncos and a ST holder at the Warriors here in NZ. Brand me a Union troll if you must, but make no mistake, I am not anti-anything, especially not RL. I suspect I spend more time and I know I spend more money following Rugby League than you do, but because I am critical of the games administration, you brand me a hater......speaks volumes about your character.
2. I am not banned on any other RL sites, but am restricted in my access on LU due to the moderators there ac ting like children. I was not warned about my rights being restricted, they just were. The Fight Club section of LU is dedicated to debates about other codes....I give them what they want. :D
3. The vast Majority of posters want bans handed down you say? 71,000+ registered posters on these boards, 2,500 currently on-line......I'd be stunned if more than a half dozen posters have requested bans....that is not a majority of anything. :SUBMISSION:
4. Objectives? What pray tell do you think my "objectives" are? I freely admit to being openly critical of the way the sport is run, I compare it to Union regularly as I believe with the right management, then it could be as big if not bigger than RU. I regularly criticise the London Broncos owner and senior management and often defend the club from slanderous attacks by flat earth, whippet racing pigeon fancying northerners resentful that their pit town isn't in SL....but I have no objective per say. Looking forward to your response to this part in particular.....do you really think I am that influential that my posts on here can make a difference

Whine away all you like or better still, put me on ignore, but I have broken no rules and will continue to question the way the sport is governed in the UK.
